Now that the weather has cooled way down, nothing sounds better than a comforting bowl of soup. From light and brothy to rich and hearty, here’s a list of some of our favorite soups to warm you up this winter.
Tender Greens at Irvine Spectrum Center is best known for its hearty salads or hot plate specials, but don’t pass up the Roasted Roma Tomato Soup. Drizzled with a flavorful basil oil and topped with a few ciabatta croutons for some crunch, this takes a classic tomato soup and amps up the flavor to make it a cold weather must.
The Tortilla Soup from Red O at Fashion Island is full of spice to warm you up. With a Pasilla pepper tomato broth, sautéed onions and shredded chicken, the soup is poured table side and topped with avocado and crisp tortilla strips.
Bear Flag Fish Co. at Crystal Cove Shopping Center serves some of the freshest seafood in Orange County, so it’s not surprising that the Clam Chowder is a local favorite. The rich and creamy soup is loaded with tender pieces of fresh clam and potatoes to make it hearty. Served with some toasted bread for dipping, after one bite you’ll know why the line is out the door.
