Stacks Pancake House, opening at Walnut Village Center, will bring a touch of the tropical to Irvine with its Hawaiian-style breakfast and lunch. Did someone say pancakes? Because there’s 11 kinds on the menu — from good ol’ fashioned buttermilk to chocolate chip. You must try the Mac’Nut Banana — crushed macadamia nuts and fresh banana embedded in fluffy pancakes and then doused with Stacks’ special coconut syrup!
Other breakfast specialties include the Captain MacNut, golden french toast made with King’s Hawaiian rolls and rolled in crispy Cap’N Crunch cereal bits. Add gooey peanut butter and some fresh slices of banana and you’ve got the Captain Crunch Peanut Butter French Toast (pictured above), a decadent treat even Elvis would approve of.
Want something savory? Try signature favorites like the Kalua Pork Benedict or the Loco Moco, the Aloha State’s famous comfort food dish of rice topped with a hamburger patty, fried egg and gravy.
Stacks Pancake House is slated to open in March 2016 at 14421 Culver Drive in Irvine, near Smart & Final. Hours: 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
