The Hoag Classic Returns to Orange County

The Hoag Classic is eager to welcome back the community to Orange County’s only PGA TOUR Champions event from March 2 – 6.
Defending champion Ernie Els returns, looking to become the first back-to-back winner of the Hoag Classic. Other notables in the 2022 field so far include 2008 champion, Bernhard Langer, 2014 and 2010 champion, Fred Couples and newcomers Jim Furyk, David Duval, and KJ Choi among others. A total of approximately 80 players will compete for the purse totaling $2 million –an increase of $200,000 from years past.
This year, the tournament’s net proceeds will benefit Hoag’s programs and services including the Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center, as well as other local charities.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2 & THURSDAY, MARCH 3
Legends Pro-Am, presented by Konica Minolta
The Legends Pro-Am is the first event of tournament week open to the public. Attending these days gives fans an opportunity to catch golf legends in a more relaxed environment before the competition begins. Shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Come out and enjoy the beautiful day with golf’s legends before official tournament play commences on Friday.
FRIDAY, MARCH 4
Opening Round of the Hoag Classic
This is the perfect day for local business professionals to get out of the office and enjoy Orange County’s only PGA TOUR event.
SATURDAY, MARCH 5
Military Appreciation Day, presented by CoreLogic
All active duty, military reserve, national guard, military retirees, and veterans receive complimentary admission and food service for themselves and a guest. The day will feature a special Military Celebration following the play. The celebration will include recognition of the 2022 military honorees and a charity presentation. Continuing their tradition of charitable contributions to military organizations, there will be donations to military causes including the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, the United States Navy Memorial, and the Blue Angels Foundation

SUNDAY, MARCH 6
Student Day, presented by Kingston Technology
Attention all parents and grandparents: enjoy the thrilling final round of the Hoag Classic with the entire family. All students ages 18 and under receive complimentary admission to the Hoag Classic. (Students 11 and under receive complimentary admission Wednesday – Saturday.) Students can also enjoy the Kingston Autograph Arena to meet-and-greet some of their favorite players and get their autographs. In addition to Student Day, The Hoag Classic and Hoag Hospital thank Kingston Technology for funding scholarships.
Once the 2022 Champion is announced, join in the celebration and a successful end to the Hoag Classic on the 18th green.
