Now Open: Irvine Spectrum Center’s Outdoor Ice Rink

It’s that time of year again! Irvine Spectrum Center has transformed into a winter wonderland with its outdoor OC Chill Ice Rink! Gliding around the outdoor rink is the coolest activity in OC, so lace up some skates and join the frozen fun.

OC-Chill-Header_v2-sm2Now open for the 13th year, visitors can enjoy skating season through February 15, 2016. Talk about a great way to get in the holiday spirit!

Here are some fun facts about the Irvine Spectrum Center holiday favorite:

  • The rink is 47’ wide by 72’ long
  • The rink will weigh 51,840 lbs., or 18 lbs. per square foot
  • It is maintained by the world’s smallest custom Zamboni
  • More than 25,000 skaters take the ice each year
  • Due to its popularity, Irvine Spectrum Center has lengthened the dates the Ice Rink is open (opens earlier and stays later than it did years ago)
  • Irvine Spectrum Center now offers season passes, which weren’t available when it first debuted, and the passes continue to grow in popularity every year
  • Private parties are very popular and the Ice Rink hosts numerous parties each season
  • Three couples have gotten engaged on the ice rink!

IC-RETAIL-ISC-ICERINK-OCT2015LAMB-166Skate sessions are 75 minutes. Prices are $19 for adults and children, including skate rentals and $15 if you bring your own skates. Skate sessions for toddlers are $14 daily, including skate rental (sizes 8T to 12T only.)

Season passes, private lessons and private parties are also available.

The rink is located in Giant Wheel Court.
