“Fashion has finally arrived in O.C.!” That’s what one magazine editor declared when she set foot into Atelier 7918 for the first time this week. The boutique just opened its doors at Crystal Cove Shopping Center and they’re still putting the finishing touches on the sleek, minimalist decor. But a quick scan of the goods revealed a highly edited selection of coveted brands and designers not readily found elsewhere: Mary Katrantzou, Peter Pilotto, Mugler, Cushnie et Ochs, Olympia Le Tan, Laurence Dacade, M2Malletier, Malone Souliers, Jennie Kwon, Ruifier, Kiyoko, Clark’s Botanicals and Kelly Wearstler, to name a few.
Kaleidoscopic prints and sculptural finishes are a hallmark for London designer Peter Pilotto (left); a statement-making midi-skirt by Italian designer Stella Jean (right).
The LBD of the future, a daring black leather dress by Mugler (left) and cut out sleeved jacket with patent leather pocket detail by David Koma (right).
Shoe candy in the form of gorgeous mules and pumps by Malone, all handcrafted shoes from Italy. Handcrafted!
A terribly chic and whimsical assortment of clutches by Nathalie Trad, Les Petits Jouers and more.
Atelier 7918 is located next to Piajeh at Crystal Cove Shopping Center in Newport Beach.
