Now Open: Slapfish in Irvine

Slapfish, the modern seafood shack founded by Chef Andrew Gruel, is now open at University Center in Irvine (across from UCI)!

The popular seafood joint offers “boat to plate” dining with sustainably caught fresh fish and shellfish in a fast-casual setting. Whether you’re dining in or picking up, swing by for a boatload of delicious eats!

The Lobster roll features succulent pieces of lobster tail, claw and knuckle meat drizzled with butter, served on a grilled bun. Customers may choose between a swipe of mayo, a drizzle of warm butter or a serving of the original Awesome Sauce to accompany their roll (MP).

Slapfish assembles your fish tacos just the way you want them, crispy or grilled! Both the crispy and grilled fish tacos are balanced by a creamy avocado puree and the refreshing fixings of pickled onion and cabbage ($6).

There is no skimping on the shrimp at Slapfish. The Bowl of Shrimp comes packed with either chilled or fried shrimp along with the customer’s selection of sauces such as Sriracha spiked Rooster Cocktail, creamy lemon herb sauce or classic clarified butter.

The Chowder Fries are covered in piping hot clam chowder with a generous helping of double smoked bacon, sprinkled with scallions and finished off with some Awesome Sauce ($6.50).
