STYLE WEEK OC: Week One Recap!
Sep 17, 2014

It’s been a hot, hot week and by hot we mean haute. Triple-digit heat aside, STYLE WEEK OC’s first week at Fashion Island was full of great runway shows & shopping parties, perfect for getting inspired for all of fall’s best trends. Here are some of our favorite looks from the runway:

Neiman Marcus kicked off the festivities on Sept.10 with a runway presentation that paid tribute to 20 years of the Art of Fashion: our favorite look? This jaw-dropping pale pink bodycon dress that shone like iridescent liquid metal.

BCBGMAXAZRIA sent out a collection of bold graphic prints and patterns in statement-making black & white.

Leave it to Halston Heritage to turn out some gorgeous cocktail and evening wear, like this ombre sequined gown – it looks amazing with the vamp lip.
And of course, there was the crowd-favorite, the runway design competition presented by STYLEWEEKOC sponsor Celebrity Cruises, who challenged the designers at FIDM to create resort-wear that evoked modern luxury. This year’s entries were especially stunning. It was a hard choice for the judges to make but in the end, the winning design was …
Designer Paul Hernandez and his strapless, hand-painted silk peau de soie gown with a detachable silk charmeuse train that the model easily whipped off on the runway to convert the gown into a chic cocktail-length dress and then later used as a dramatic cape. Congratulations, Paul!
Head to Irvine Spectrum Center this Friday and Saturday for even more runway action! Info: styleweekoc.com
