O.C.’s Fashion Truck Meetup 2014

Irvine Spectrum Center will host O.C.’s first Fashion Truck Meet Up from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, May 23 through Sunday, May 25 at Giant Wheel Court. Featuring some of SoCal’s hottest boutiques on wheels, the event will also highlight some of Irvine Spectrum Center’s most popular fast-fashion boutiques that have been invited to set up pop-up shops alongside the fashion trucks during one of the evenings.

“We’re always looking for different ways in which we can provide a great shopping experience for our customers, even if it means marrying two different shopping worlds together,” said Stacie Ellis, senior director of marketing for Irvine Company Retail Properties. “In this case, we decided to bring these increasingly popular fashion trucks right onto our shopping center for a day where we’ll also invite select boutiques from our center to do cool pop-up shops alongside the fashion trucks for a really fun shopping event, complete with music and informal modeling.”

Shoppers are invited to check out the following three specialty fashion-mobiles during the event:

  • Pekok Within, Orange County’s first mobile fashion truck, delivers fast fashion on wheels. Owned by couple Brittney and Branigan Lee, Pekok is named after the term “peacocking,” in which male peacocks strut their feathers to woo the females – similar to what they’re hoping their apparel will do. Pekok Within has rolled its wares everywhere from local college campuses to Coachella. The boutique carries on-trend pieces, from vintage-inspired high-waisted swimwear to body-conscious vegan leather pants – all at approachable price points.
  • Le Fashion Truck, credited as being L.A.’s first fashion truck after opening in 2011, has since been featured in major national and international press, including NBC’s Today Show, USA Today and Lucky Magazine. Le Fashion Truck offers clothing and accessories by emerging designers for women on the go who love the boho-chic aesthetic – find everything from handmade jewelry to scarves, handbags and more aboard their pink truck, which also comes outfitted with a dressing room.
  • L.A.’s premier boutique on wheels, J.D. Luxe, offers up all the latest trend-forward looks and accessories with a bohemian-meets-rocker edge. From maxi dresses to statement jewelry and even its own line of ultra-soft tanks, tees and hoodies for both men and women, J.D. Luxe is its own fashion house on wheels.

The OC Fashion Truck Meet Up is a part of Saturday Style, a summer fashion initiative, where featured stores will showcase their latest looks in pop-up fashion boutiques throughout Irvine Spectrum Center. The participating stores on Saturday, May 24  include Foreign Exchange, Irene’s Story and Kaitlyn, all of which will be offering exclusive deals and prizes from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for all Saturday Style shoppers.
